Digital TV Conversion Minus the Hassle

As most of us have heard Ark II now Minnesota Iceman February 17, 2009 all full power broadcast television stations in the United States will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in digital. Digital broadcasting will allow stations to offer improved picture and sound quality and additional channels.

So where does that leave you? If you have a digital online insurance quote converter box or a TV with a built in digital (ATSC) tuner you're on easy street. If you have neither you're TV won't do you much good unless you hook up a VCR, DVD player or satellite receiver. While most of us are a bit upset about the conversion there is a bright side to all this. We will get better picture quality because it takes less power to send a digital signal than it does to send an analog signal and we have a much better chance of commercial van insurance reception in more remote areas.

Still not smiling? This is the perfect excuse to splurge on a brand new TV! Most 12 volt TV's have built in digital tuners and most have a built in DVD player too. Intended for use in your truck or RV these low power consumption televisions are lightweight and offer great picture quality.

On average LCD flat panel 12 volt televisions draw around 5 amps of 12 volt power. Most can also be powered up using 110V A/C as well. While not everyone is a master installer please keep in mind that you don't need to be. In most cases removing a factory installed television set from your truck or RV is pretty simple and installation of a new TV can be just as easy. Some folks are really taking advantage of the transition by doing some really killer installs. In most cases everything you will need to hook up your new 12 volt television set is already in place. You may consider options like Rhino Syd Barrett mounting hardware and even some heavy duty drawer roller tracks (roller tracks found at your local hardware store) for installing in a pre-existing TV shrouds that are built into your RV.
